(A Poem From The Path: Starlight)

By: William W. Simpson

Starlight -

As I look toward the stars
Sky filled with beacons of joy
Incandescent hope radiating,
Penetrating,
Every part of the glimmering totality.

Gratitude floods me
For all the friends with whom I laughed.
For all the children with whom I have played.
For all the women I have loved.

Gifts like pearls
Interwoven through coarse fabric.

The light illumines the earth
Every shadow caressed and exposed.
Every aspiration called forth
For inspection and forgiveness.

What remains
Is starlight.
