Holiday cards are an inexpensive solution to high marketing costs. One major problem for businesses of all sizes and stripes is how to market their product or services in a cost effective way, and to keep themselves in the eye of their key accounts and prospects. One overlooked resource in this regard is the common holiday card, specifically a Thanksgiving Day or Christmas card. Thanksgiving Day cards are a wonderful way to make an initial contact with a prospect, or a follow-up contact with an existing account, and are easily followed by a Christmas card several weeks later. Thanksgiving cards also have the virtue of representing a non-denominational holiday that appeals to one of the best instincts in every American family--that of giving thanks. Also, because it is celebrated at a time when theleaves (at least in the northeast) are changing colors, the beauty and color of many of these cards are breathtaking. Christmas cards serve the same purpose as Thanksgiving cards. They too are an inexpensive way to stay in touch with prospects or clients, and are available in a wide selection of categories sufficient to satisfy every taste. These categories often range from religious to business to patriotic to die-cut photo cards, even including recycled and eco-friendly cards. Sophisticated sites permit the purchaser to choose from hundreds of selections, select from a variety of type styles and ink colors, allow for verse choices from a standard list or permit you to customize your own verse. In addition, some sites allow you to proof your order on line prior to submission. Lined envelopes are also available, and for a very reasonable charge, kwik-seal envelopes can also be had. Though this may be surprising, it is not too early to order Christmas cards. Some sites, for example, offer extensive early bird discounts and when combined with free envelope imprinting, represent dramatic savings over the price you would pay at the height of the season. Though not every card may be available for immediate shipment, the price is locked in for the season. Thanksgiving Day and Christmas cards have many virtues as a marketing tool, and it should be one of the arrows in the quiver of every marketing department. It is hard to imagine a more cost effective way to reach clients and prospects than with the adroit use of holiday cards.
