I KILLED OSAMA BIN LADEN (The Mastermind of Terrorism is Dead!)

By: Pastor Earl D Darling

In the early morning hours of August 19, 2006, Osama Bin Laden was killed by a local citizen, Earl Darling, of Cortlandt Manor, New York. The US army and its allies had been searching for Bin Laden in the Middle East for years. What they did not know was that Bin Laden had disguised himself as an average citizen and was living right under our nose in the USA. Here is the ground breaking news in Earl Darling’s own words.

I happened to be at a public rest stop in a small town in upstate New York when I spotted Bin Laden and immediately recognized him through the disguise. I confronted him and we got into a fierce struggle but I was able to overpower and kill him.

I took up his body and ran outside shouting, “I killed Bin Laden, I killed Bin Laden.” People saw me with the body but no one even stopped to examine who it was. No one believed me. They thought I was a crazy, wild man. Some were even afraid of me as I continued running up and down the streets shouting even louder, “I killed Bin Laden”. I expected to be flocked by reporters and TV crews. I expected large crowds to gather around me and be part of the ground-breaking news, but only a few curious people paid any attention.

I knew that there was a multi-million dollar reward waiting for me for killing Bin Laden but I would not get it unless the authorities could confirm that I had killed the real Bin Laden. I had accomplished a very great service to our country and the free world, yet no one believed me. I realized I was going to need a better approach than running up and down the streets shouting, “I killed Bin Laden,” but before I could formulate a plan, I awoke from the dream.

I laid in bed thinking about this dream and wondering if it had any meaning to my life. I lost my daughter, Elizabeth Darling, who was at work in Building One of the World Trade Center on September 11. I have longed to see Osama Bin Laden pay for his crimes against humanity, and I applaud the efforts of our president to track him down and bring him to justice. I do not, however, think about Bin Laden too much. I harbor no hatred or bitterness in my heart, as that would be counter-productive in dealing with my loss. Why then did I have this dream and what did it mean? As I meditated on these questions the answer slowly began to enter my consciousness.

Osama Bin Laden is the champion of terrorism. He has intimidated the world and put fear in the hearts of millions. No one would expect me to be the one to find and kill Bin Laden and if I did, it would take some real evidence and convincing for people to believe that I had done it. The odds of me killing Bin Laden are so small it doesn’t even make sense to calculate it. So I realized the dream was symbolic of something else.

What did it mean? It soon became clear. There is an Osama Bin Laden that I have killed. I have run in the streets shouting, “I killed Bin Laden”, but so far only a few people have believed me. Who is this Osama Bin Laden that I have killed? I have killed the terrorist known as addiction.

Do you remember the story of David and Goliath? David was not even a soldier when he killed the Philistine champion, Goliath. No one thought David could do it, but David believed in God and in his abilities and he did what no one else had been able to do, he killed Goliath. I feel like young David, for I, too, have beat the odds and killed a giant.

Who are you, Earl Darling, to tackle the giant of drugs, cigarettes, alcohol, sexual and other addictions that have terrorized so many lives? Some of the most seasoned soldiers of our day have not succeeded at winning this war, who are you to believe you can really help people overcome these giants?

Let me answer in a similar fashion as David did. David had confidence he could slay Goliath because he had slain both a lion and a bear. He knew his capabilities. I too have personally slain the addictive lion and the bear that attacked my life. I learned some truths in the process and I used them to create The SHARP Solution Seminar so that you, too, can kill your giants.

Only time will tell if we will ever capture or kill Osama Bin Laden. Only time will tell if we will strike a mortal wound to terrorism. You, however, don’t have to be victimized by the terrorism of addiction any longer. Like David, you can overcome your giants; and like me, you can kill YOUR Bin Laden, the terrorism of addiction.
