In the Book Of Ceremonial Magick- Gabriel The Archangel

By: Rev SC Raven

In the book of Ceremonial Magick, it is suggested that the Key of Solomon is designed more so for those seeking godly presence. The Keys is the more Holy book of the books that make up the Grande Grimoire. However in works of Magick, black Magick would be associated with the Grimorium Verum, as the Keys would represent White Magick.

What I have done over the last 20 years is Combine the works of the Keys, Grimorium Verum, Abra Merlin, Arbatel of Magic and a few other books into one workable set of ethics for Magick both Black and White. The results take the commonality in all the books along with the Arch Angels who are represented both in the Keys, Abra-Merlin, Arbatel, as Gabriel, Uriel, Raphael, and Michael. These same Arch Angels are also used widely in other ancient works, such as the Kabbalah/Quabala, from which these other Grimoire are created. As the old saying goes, “even the devil relies on his guardian angel” Lucifer according to biblical text was a beautiful angel who fell from the grace of the lord because (roughly stated) he did not want to follow the lords law, and wanted to implement his own. He then according to text was caste out, and thus is revered as the fallen angel. Before Lucifer there was another Angel that did not want to follow in the footsteps of the lord, he also being an angel of communication and battles abided by his own laws, and was also caste out, according to biblical text. That angel is Gabriel.

Now for years I have found that most people believe that Gabriel and Lucifer are one in the same. However the Grand Grimoire speak about calling upon a “guardian angel” for assistance when a magickal operation is not operating correctly. These Guardian angels are Gabriel, Uriel, Raphael, and Michael. Lucifer is considered a Grand Prince. Or Supreme Prince. It was not until I re-read the Abra-Merlin side by side to the Grimoire Verum that the Guardian Angels are much older then Lucifer.

Just like the analogy that many mainstream evangelists take too far in this time and day regarding the Heaven and Hell as a specific place. There is NO special hidden Black Sanctuary where a hidden church opens up to xristians. A communion of self-lost souls who have found a communion with their angels and princes. This in my opinion is a much more better description of the difference between hell and heaven. Hells being that which individual souls have found a communion with their archangels, princes, i.e. Lucifer. A Heaven is for those who have their communion of saints to another archangel of the New Testament labeled Jesus.

Now if you wish to continue with the grand description of Hell being a place where a massive Castle lies on its grounds and it is adorned by a powerful ruler hence Lucifer, I suggest you read the “Noctem Quietam et Finem Perfectum Concedat Nobis Dominus Omnipotens” first written in 1512 I believe. Loosely translated the title is “ Fine, Perfection, Noble Dominated Spirits in a Silent Night”. In this book the description of Hell is a strong black death, whose must be strong at any given time, at that one moment when its enormous gates of hell open to welcome those to the massive citadel where the supreme are taught on their knees.

Sorry went on a Grimoire kick… This is the product of lots of knowledge and little outlet. Back to Gabriel.

Gabriel is one of the two highest-ranking Archangels. He is the angel of mercy, annunciation, dreams, aspirations, the bringer of news, maker of changes, vengeance, resurrections, revelations and death. It is written that he presides over ‘paradise’ and is the ruling angel of the first gate. In biblical books he is the primary messenger to god. Hebrew god; Old Testament. He brings revelations to mankind, he is the intermediary between the infinite and earthly existence. He is the one that aids in interpreting our dreams, visions. He grants the understanding of angelic mysteries in the form of the Goetia, Kabala and other ancient texts. He is the bringer of justice, truth, love and divinity. Some books have him listed as the Angel of January. However in my opinion I believe he is more so the Angel of October. He has been given the title of patron saint by the church for communication and vengeance. (Of course I believe the holy word for vengeance is umm…deliverance)

The name Gabriel means “man of god”. Gabriel’s prophesies are present in the Hebrew Old Testament of Daniel (9:21-27), Apocryphal book of Enoch, Book of Zechariah (Luke 1:11, 1:26), Book of Moses, The Keys of Solomon, King Solomon speaks highly of Gabriel. Abra-Merlin primary angel is Gabriel.

For the mysteries of reincarnation and birthing. Gabriel is accredited for selecting souls to be birthed to earth to rejoin past lives to the newly birthed one to continue their education upon earth, so when the time is ready Gabriel closes the gate on their eternal earthly existence in exchange for godly eternity.

Gabriel was said to dictate the Koran to Muhammad, according to Babylonian Legends. Gabriel is the angel of the moon; he is the spirit of truth and prince of justice. He is the alchemy of psychic phenomenon, intuition, visions, Magick, clairvoyance, scrying, astral travel, and herbal medicines. His stone is the moonstone, and candle colors are silver, pearl white, deep blues, rose, crystal, and scarlet.
