Miu Miu is a high fashion brand from the Prada fashion house, opened in 1992 and headed by Miuccia Prada. The name of the collection is taken from Miuccia Prada’s nickname. There are Miu Miu boutiques situated in New York, Las Vegas, Los Angeles, Costa Mesa, London, Florence, Rome, Melbourne, Milan, Tokyo, Nagoya, Kobe, Fukuoka, Paris, Singapore, Hong Kong, Boston, Kuwait, Taipei, Malaysia and Hawaii. Miu Miu also opened a new store in Honolulu, Hawaii in March 2009. The store celebrated its inaugural opening in the prestigious Ala Moana Shopping Center, with a Limited Edition Hawaii Exclusive bag. They only made 50 of these bags to celebrate their opening in the 50th State, which sold out opening weekend. Word has gotten out on Fashion Blogs, with some Japanese enthusiasts paying up to $15,000 for the opportunity to be one of the 50 to own a bag. Paris Hilton was in Hawaii in March 2009, and spotted by locals as one of the 50. A famous Hawaii-born Japanese Actress/Model/Singer, Yuna Ito, was also seen wearing the bag. Miu Miu also opened its first independent store in China in the MIX in the city of Shenzhen in 2009. Miu Miu has also opened their first Australian boutique at Chadstone Shopping Centre in Melbourne. Spokes Models for Miu Miu Brand Spokes models for the brand have included Katie Holmes, Vanessa Paradis, Kirsten Dunst, Laetitia Casta, Maggie Gyllenhaal, Lindsay Lohan, Zhou Xun, Lindsey Wixson, Ginta Lapina and Siri Tollerod. Miu Miu Fashion Shows The Miu Miu fashion show is an exclusive affair and by invitation only. Runway shows are for celebrities, retail buyers, press and are generally not open to the public. Fashion show production has become a big business and is one of the most persuasive and influential marketing tools used in the fashion industry today. Nowhere is the fashion energy more electrifying and addictive than on the runways where new collections are introduced. Celebrities and important buyers definitely get preferential treatment by being seated up front in reserved seats along the runway. Photographers also have prime locations at the end of the runway to obtain exclusive photographs of the new collections. Remaining seats are assigned according to a store buyer's importance and/or purchasing power. Standing room only is reserved for friends and supporters of the designer. The conclusion is not surprising Miu Miu is an exclusive designer range for the discerning fashion conscious.
