“They can do all because they think they can.” - Virgil (Roman poet, B.C. 70-19) Self-confidence means believing that you can think and act effectively. If you think you can’t do something, you probably won’t try. Even if you do make an attempt, you’re likely to give up when difficulties seem to prove your doubts. However, if you believe you can do it, you’ll make the attempt and eventually prove what was always true—that with effort, persistence, learning and a little luck, you can work through most difficult tasks. You know you have limits. You aren’t capable of everything, and taking on a new challenge is never easy. So it’s natural to conclude that you may not be able to complete it successfully. This belief will be reinforced when you encounter problems. You haven’t stopped learning and growing, and you haven’t done everything you’re going to do. You know if you work hard, figure things out as you go and stick with it in spite of difficulties, it’s amazing what you can accomplish. Remember this and believe in your ability to get things done.
