The Drowning Of New Orleans

By: nicksym

The water rose very swiftly,
tears of anguish mixed with the rain
Thousands of faces, just a blur,
but all recognized the look of pain

Husbands, wives, sons and daughters,
with no movement they all drift by
Watching all this happen elsewhere,
the atrocity made us all cry

God has not forsaken you,
and Mother Nature still loves you all
Blame all the beau crates in the government,
for not building a higher wall

I truly hope that this is the end of it,
because as people we cannot endure much more
And that we have the strength,
When it is our turn to face Heavens door.
