The Quest

There is an empty space in her heart,
that she knows she must fill
With the extra weight strapped to her back,
she cannot make it up the hill

It is steep with a never ending trail,
but the path will lead her to the light
She has traveled far to long and hard,
the truth will come in sight

Happiness does not come easy,
sometimes it is very hard to find
But with good friends and family,
there comes some peace of mind

With an open wound there comes pain,
until the wound is healed
Some choose to ignore the hurt,
and for them their future is sealed

But now as the peak comes closer,
and the sun starts to warm her face
her tired eyes open wide,
she knows she must quicken the pace

The hill has now turned to a mountain,
and she burns from the incredible heat
For on this day she knows,
it is her Creator she now will meet

Bless you Father for your helping hand,
for without it she could not endure
And in her heart she will thank you every day,
for this I am very sure.
