The World Series of Poker is coming!

This is one of the most expected events of the year, around the world, a tournament where the most famous poker stars meet to participate in this amazing event.

The first World Series of Poker was in 1970 at the Binion’s Horseshoe with only seven players and the winner was the legendary Johnny Moss getting a silver cup as the main prize.

In 2006 the event will count with 42 tournaments and all the poker variants will be played. The number of participants is bigger every year and for this coming year there are a total of 8.000 players for the main event including former champions, celebrities and professionals with a $10.000 buy in.

Also the H.O.R.S.E tournament will be added this year (Hold’em, Omaha, Razz, Stud, Stud/Eight or Better) with a $50.000 buy in, the first event will cost more than $10.000.

The tournament is scheduled to start on July 28 and it will be completed on August 10, 2006 with a winning prize of $10,000,000. The satellite event will begin on June 25 and is going to be held at the Rio All Suite Hotel & Casino with complete television coverage.
