language barrier. It is obvious that there is no language
that is accepted universally, though 50% people, who access
Internet, do know English. However, it is becoming more or
less apparent that in the coming years, Asian languages are
going to dominate the virtual world, which is due to the
sheer number of users that these countries are producing.
It becomes obvious, then, that to go global, you need to
address global demands of the Internet users from different
parts of the world. Therefore, knowledge about the language,
culture, preferences, and other local factors are also a part
of Search Engine Optimization campaign that you need to adopt.
The web owner must realize that the product or the service
that you sell pretty successfully in one region, will find
limited or very bleak interest with the users or other
countries, just because you are not able to tell them what
it stands for--foreign languages always have limited

But translation is not the panacea

of these factors and you should choose the one that provides
comprehensive coverage for these aspects. You need to make sure
that you understand and comprehend fully the likes and dislikes
of the regional users, and address them through the presentation

ranking but not the leads that you generate with the quality of
your website!

Some suggestions for web owners for international marketing

Translate your site into the local languages for the communities
to which you intend to reach out. Publish a press release in the
local language to the local press. Realize that local search
engines are also important--you need to register with them and
get indexed. Provide options for local currency rates for your
products or services, which instantly help the users to decide
whether or not to shop with you. Find some good contacts with
local designers and website organizations that can help you to
establish a virtual connection with the people of that region--
natives know better than the outside people, and therefore, their
input is greatly helpful in assisting you to design a meaningful
and attracting website for every region or country.
