What If

All your life you have been a good Christian,
saying your prayers before bed
Then one day the inevitable happens,
and you find for some reason, you’re dead

All those Sundays on your knees in church,
when you would rather have gone to the beach
Expectations of the great reward,
are now within your reach

On your way you see St. Peter,
he gives you a friendly wave
The excitement of knowing what is beyond,
The eternal rest you crave

As you approach the gates of Heaven,
in a deafening voice you yell, “Bull”
for there is a sign that reads very clearly,
Sorry Closed – Heaven is now Full.
